Concert Truss - What it Is and How It Works

Concert trusses are a key component of any venue's stage set up, acting as the skeleton that the stage set is built upon.concert truss structure These huge stage truss structures are extremely practical and durable making them ideal stage gear for all venues. They are made to support the largest and heaviest of musical instruments and provide a safe and comfortable place for performers and audience alike. If you are planning on having a concert anytime in the near future it would be wise to make sure that your venue has a concert truss in place before the show.

There are two types of truss design available for use in concert halls; the g-block and the double a-block.concert truss structure concert truss structure The g-block design is used most often for large auditoriums and is comprised of four separate sections of twelve inches each. The double a-block is a more common option which consists of two sections of twelve inches each, but can be set up in different ways. Either way these large concert trusses are highly useful for holding multiple instruments and other heavy items.

Another popular type of concert truss is the twelve inch complete static structure.concert truss structure concert truss structure This design is the most commonly used in concert halls but it does have it's disadvantages. Unlike the g-block and double g-block which allows for various options in configuration, the twelve inch static truss is fixed and cannot be reconfigured in any way. The problem with this type of truss is that it's hard to add or remove sections when the venue is changing its configuration. It can also be hard to set up an entire static stage without disrupting the flow of the setup.

Other unique features of some concert truss designs include optional accessories such as pit bins that can be incorporated into the truss construction allowing for easier setting up of musical instruments on the stage. Some truss designs even feature optional lighting that can be attached to the truss bar at either end. If lighting is desired then the truss could be designed to incorporate light bulbs or mini spotlights in certain areas of the truss itself. Depending on the exact requirements of the band the lighting can be placed where it will best illuminate the instruments being used on the stage.

Finally, the material used in construction of a concert truss will often be related to the overall appearance of the piece. For example, a sheet metal piece will most likely be made from steel whereas a wooden piece will be made of a lighter grade wood. The thickness of a concert truss will also vary depending on the purpose of the piece. Heavy music requires a thicker truss as well as a sturdier design, whereas a light piece will require a lighter weight material. These characteristics will ensure that the final product provides the best possible support for whatever music is being played on the stage.

When purchasing a concert truss it is important to ensure that it is a quality design that will work with the type of music being performed. In addition to this it is equally important to choose a design that will match the venue in which the event is taking place. It may be preferable to choose a concert truss that features an alternative finish if requested by the band but once bought and installed the preferred finish should be used.
